The Best Paper Bags for Florists: Choosing a Bag for Bouquets

A beautiful bouquet deserves a bag that protects it and shows off your shop's name. Here's what to look for when choosing paper bags for a flower shop.

1. Choose an upright shape

Bouquets are tall and narrow at the stems, so a bag that's taller than it is wide holds them best. For most hand-tied bouquets we recommend a bag around 10 × 5 × 13 in (about 254 × 127 × 330 mm). The flowers sit up out of the top, which looks lovely and keeps the blooms from being crushed.

Wider bags such as 16 × 6 × 12 in are better for large, wide arrangements, flower boxes or bouquets paired with a gift.

2. Ribbon handles feel premium

Gift bags with ribbon handles, like our white Euro Tote gift bags, match the presentation of fresh flowers far better than basic twist handles. White paper also keeps colourful logos and floral branding bright.

3. Laminated or unlaminated?

  • Unlaminated white paper can be printed in full colour with no plate fee, which is great for detailed logos and smaller first orders.
  • Matte laminated paper feels thicker and more luxurious and resists moisture better, but it's printed with a one-colour screen print and has a one-time plate fee.

4. Plan for peak seasons

Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are the busiest weeks of the year for florists. Order your branded bags a few weeks ahead so you're never stuck using plain bags when it matters most.

5. Keep a taller option on hand

For long-stem roses or very tall arrangements, a taller kraft or white paper bag such as the Queen (16 × 6 × 19.25 in) gives extra height at a lower cost, with a simpler look than a premium gift bag.
