When you order custom printed paper bags, the printing method affects your price, your minimum order, the finishes you can choose and how fast you get your bags. Here's a plain-English comparison of the two methods we use.
Full-colour digital printing
Digital printing applies your logo directly to the bag, much like a high-quality printer.
- Colours: unlimited. Gradients, photos and multi-colour logos all print well.
- Plate fee: none. Digital printing doesn't need a printing screen or plate.
- Minimums: low. Our listed custom bags start from one case.
- Turnaround: fast. Small custom orders usually ship about a week after you approve your mockup.
- Finishes: works on unlaminated kraft and white paper. It isn't available on laminated bags.
Screen printing
Screen printing pushes ink through a mesh screen made for your design. It's the classic method for laminated and premium bags.
- Colours: usually one colour per screen, which suits simple, bold logos.
- Plate fee: a one-time setup fee to make the screen, which we always quote up front.
- Minimums: typically sold in full cases, for example 150 bags for premium gift bags.
- Finishes: works on matte or gloss laminated bags, which feel thicker and more luxurious.
- Turnaround: a little longer, because the screen has to be made first.

Which should you choose?
If your logo has several colours or you want to start small, choose digital printing. If you love the thick, matte-laminated feel of luxury boutique bags and your logo works in one colour, choose screen printing.
Either way, we'll send you a free digital mockup before anything is printed. Send us your logo or browse our custom gift bags and custom paper bags.
